A couple on a date

Bring back
casual dating.

You can't text — you can only ask someone on a real date.

Hey Date

Dating without the talking stage.

Send a real date

Pick a time, a place, a plan and send it. That's the only move — no opener, no small talk, you just ask them out.

They say yes, you're in

Yes, Reschedule, or No thanks. A yes drops the date into both calendars and reveals numbers — no ghosting in slow motion.

No chat. Ever.

There's no message box anywhere. You can't pen-pal for a month because the place to do it doesn't exist. The talking stage is deleted.

rather just go on the date

"I matched on a Tuesday and we were at dinner by Thursday. No three-week text marathon that goes nowhere."

The whole point

Three months of texting. Zero dates. Not here.

Every other app rewards the talking stage. Hey Date deletes it. There's no message field to hide behind — just one button that puts you in the same room as someone real.

No chat box

There is no DM. You can't open with "hey," you can't pen-pal someone for a month. The talking stage is gone because the place to do it doesn't exist.

Send a real date

The only outbound move is a plan: a time, a place, a thing to do. Coffee Thursday. Tacos Friday. You're not asking to talk — you're asking them out.

Yes · Reschedule · No thanks

Three answers, no typing. Say yes and we drop it in your calendar and reveal numbers. No ghosting in slow motion — just an answer.

Hey Date does the asking

Pick a time, a place, an activity — we turn it into a clean date invite, send it, and the moment they say yes it's in both calendars with numbers revealed. No back-and-forth, no "we should hang sometime."

How it works

Swipe. Send the date. Show up.

Three steps. None of them involve typing a single message.

01

Swipe

Real profiles, real photos. Like who you like — the same flick you already know. No bios full of "just ask."

02

Send a date

Pick a time, a place, an activity, and send it. That's your only move — and it's the one that actually gets you a date.

03

Meet IRL

They say yes, we lock it in, add it to your calendar and reveal numbers. You skip straight to the part that counts.

Questions

The short answers

None. No chat box, no DMs, no free text of any kind. The only thing you can send another person is a date invite. Deleting the text is the entire product — it's what kills the endless talking stage.

You plan them in the invite. The date is the time, place and activity. If something doesn't suit, they hit Reschedule and propose a new one. You sort it out by swapping dates, not by texting for a week.

Only after a date is mutually locked in. No number, no contact details, nothing shared until you've both committed to actually meeting. Until then there's no surface to slide into.

Safety isn't a setting, it's the floor. Report, block and full control over what's revealed are built in — and because numbers only appear once a date is locked, there's no way to harvest contact details or stalk a stranger. Reviews are rating-only, never free text.

Swiping and sending dates is free. A paid public-swiper tier is coming for people who want a bigger reach. You'll never pay to message — because there's no messaging.

Hey Date is launching on iPhone first. Drop your email below for early access and you'll be in the first wave of people who get to skip the talking stage for good.
